Poisoned baits for wasps can also be divided into two types: the first are intended for baiting exclusively adult insects, and the second, oddly enough, for larvae as well.

The action of baits of the first type is based on the taste preferences of adult individuals: they will never “pass” by available sweet syrups or fermented jam - in our case, poisoned with insecticides. Wasps willingly flock to them, and after feeding they quickly die.

The action of poisoned baits of the second type is not aimed at the immediate destruction of insects - they must first bring the poison to their nest and feed the larvae and the queen with a “delicacy”.

For example, meat treated with a suitable insecticidal preparation is laid out in a prominent place, and very soon attracts the first “victims”. The wasps carry the poisoned bait into the nest, where they diligently chew it themselves, and then feed it to the larvae, which leads to the death of both adult insects and brood. Wasps in the country: how to get rid of them using folk remedies

Traps

Traps help get rid of individual flying wasps. You can buy them or make them yourself, hang them on trees or place them on the ground.

• A commercial trap is a small plastic container with a narrow opening. Sweet and/or poisoned bait is poured or placed inside. The wasps climb into the container and either cannot get out of the viscous liquid or die from the poison.
• Such traps are made independently from plastic or glass bottles, canisters or jars.

The method is suitable for destroying nests that hang on trees.

To prepare a poisoned bait, Get from a bottle is added to beer, fermented jam or kvass in a ratio of 1:10, mixed, after which such bait with poison is poured into plastic bottles. You can also treat a piece of meat with an aqueous emulsion of the drug, which is placed near the wasp’s nest.

The convenience of the form allows the use of a remedy against wasps, destroying an entire family in the nest. Droplets of insecticide are sprayed under pressure into the cells, leaving no chance for their inhabitants to survive.

Types of wasps

People are especially often annoyed by two types of these striped insects:

• Domestic wasps are the most common individuals that build nests, live near humans and feed on nectar and fruits.
• Ground wasps - unlike domestic wasps, they are much more aggressive, they live underground, building complex catacombs. By type of feeding, representatives of this species are predators, so they eat small midges and insects. They also feed the offspring.

The drug Otos can also be used as a poisoned bait - insecticides and sugar with flavoring have already been added to it. The drug is sold in a ready-to-use form. There is only one problem - you can’t buy this wasp remedy in every store.

Sticky traps

The principle of action of glue traps is to immobilize or destroy wasps attracted by the smell of a sweet bait. Making the device at home is quite simple:

• a plastic bottle with a volume of 1.5 or 2 liters is cut into two equal parts;
• the upper part without a lid is inserted into the lower one so that there are no gaps through which a wasp could escape;
• first, the outer surface of the upper part is lubricated with thick vegetable oil or Vaseline;
• carefully pour sugar syrup or liquid jam through the hole, to which an insecticide is added if desired;
• leave the trap in the place where insects usually appear.

Cockroach gels to combat wasps

You can also get rid of wasps in your home or summer cottage using cockroach gels. The peculiarity of insecticidal gels is that they represent both bait and poison, so to speak, in one bottle (however, for wasps such bait is not as attractive as for cockroaches and ants, but often it also works). In addition, gels are convenient to apply to almost any surface.

When applied to wasps, it is especially effective to apply gels to different places near their nest - this significantly increases the likelihood of insects detecting the product.

When using glue as a wasp repellent, there are two things to consider:

• it will take more than one day to fight insects, since all the inhabitants of the nest cannot be destroyed immediately by this method;
