What is bee venom

Externally, apitoxin looks like a thick, colorless or yellowish liquid.
Its smell is reminiscent of honey, but sharper and more pronounced. The taste of apitoxin is burning and bitter. The poison begins to accumulate in the body of a honey bee from the moment it is born. Around the 14th day, its quantity reaches a peak value. From a biological point of view, bee venom is a complex multicomponent mixture of secretions of the small and large poisonous glands - branches of the accessory glands of the female reproductive system.

In the body of honey bees, apitoxin is found in liquid form. After isolation, it hardens at high speed, drying out in volume almost twice. At the same time, the beneficial properties of the component and its action remain unchanged.

Apitoxin penetrates the body of a potential enemy with the help of a bee sting - a process covered with microscopic barbs. When a bee stings a person or animal, these barbs become stuck in the skin. When trying to break free, part of the bee's intestine, attached to the bag with apitoxin, comes off, which leads to its death. Therefore, a bee can only sting once.

Man has learned to extract the toxin in such a way that the bee does not die. To do this, just press on the bee’s abdomen: it will release apitoxin, but remain alive. In industry, special poison collectors are used, the action of which is based on the use of weak discharges of electric current or sulfur dioxide vapor. The result is the same: bee venom is released, but the bee does not die.

Composition of bee venom

The enzymatic composition of bee venom depends on the method of its preparation. Manual secretion produces a lower quality substrate containing impurities. When electrically stimulating a bee, the apitoxin is purer.

The components that make up bee venom are usually divided into 3 groups. The first is toxic polypeptides. These include:

  1. Melitin is the main component, up to 50%. Responsible for the burning sensation as bee venom penetrates the skin. The action of melitin helps to dilate blood vessels and lower blood pressure. The component can destroy cell membranes.
  2. Apamin is a powerful neurotoxin consisting of 18 amino acids. Able to penetrate the blood-brain barrier. It has a neurotropic effect - it can cause prolonged tremor. A number of animal studies show that the component improves memory and learning ability.
  3. MCD-peptide is a polypeptide consisting of 22 amino acids. The component causes the release of histamine from mast cells and has a powerful anti-inflammatory effect.
  4. Tertiapine is a 21 amino acid peptide. Its pharmaceutical effect is to block a number of potassium channels. The component causes pain at the point of penetration of the sting and local inflammation.
  5. Minor components (contained in small quantities) are histamine-containing tetra- and pentapeptides. They have presynaptic, adrenomimetic, antiarrhythmic effects.

The second group of active components of bee venom are proteins with enzymatic properties. Among them:

  1. Phospholipase A2. The concentration of the component is 10–14%. Accelerates the resorption of hematomas, wound healing, normalizes the quality of blood, and rejuvenates the skin. The action of the component disrupts the release of mediators from nerve endings.
  2. Hyaluronidase. Content - 1–3%. Distributes bee venom components throughout tissues. It is a strong allergen, but its effect can be used for medicinal purposes - for the resorption of scars.
  3. Acid phosphatase. A component that catalyzes the removal of phosphate groups from apitoxin molecules.

The third group of components is biogenic amines. These include histamine, dopamine, and norepinephrine. Not long ago, phosphomonoesterase, alpha-glucosidase, and a number of other enzymes were discovered. The action of the components is tissue swelling, adrenaline production, increased heart rate.

In addition, apitoxin contains glucose, inorganic acids, volatile oils, and carbohydrates. It contains a complex of useful macro- and microelements:

  • phosphorus;
  • manganese;
  • calcium;
  • iodine;
  • chlorine;
  • magnesium;
  • copper.

The chemical composition of apitoxin depends on the age of the honey bee. The peak secretion of the melittin component occurs on the tenth day after birth of the insect, and histamine on the 40th. Bee nutrition also affects the composition of apitoxin.

Properties of bee venom

The chemical properties of bee venom are preserved in dried form. It is characterized by:

  • density - 1.13 g/ml;
  • pH of the aqueous solution - 4.5-5.5;
  • dry residue content - 41%.

Bee venom is soluble in water, heat-resistant: can withstand temperatures up to 115 degrees. It is not afraid of negative temperatures, even after freezing it retains its properties. In a solution of 60% alcohol, formic acid is slightly soluble.

Under the influence of the air, bee venom quickly turns into a powder consisting of brownish or yellowish grains. At the same time, it loses at least 13% in volume. The biological properties of dried apitoxin and its therapeutic effect have not changed for decades.

How is bee venom formed?

Bee venom is a colorless liquid with an odor reminiscent of honey. It is a biologically active substance, so it dries instantly in the open air. In large quantities it is an extremely harmful and even dangerous substance for humans (the sting of 450 bees is considered fatal, 180 or more causes severe poisoning). In small doses, bee venom is used in cosmetology and medicine.

The venom is produced in the sting gland of bees. Both worker bees and queen bees have such glands - they secrete exactly the same poison. Each bee's sting contains from 0.2 to 0.8 milligrams of poison, which the insect injects when biting. For worker bees, poison serves as a means of defense for the hive and colony. The queen uses her sting solely to eliminate her rival.

A bee is unable to sting if its abdomen is filled with honey, and most often dies when stung because it cannot remove the sting.

A bee's sting is designed in such a way that once it has pierced the skin, it cannot pull it back out. Contrary to popular belief, not all bees die after being stung. If the insect carefully flies away from the victim, it will remain without a sting, but will survive. Death occurs not from the loss of the sting, but from damage to internal organs when it is removed from the bee’s body, when the insect is in a hurry to move away from the victim.

How to obtain bee venom

It takes a large number of bees to collect enough bee venom. The resource is collected in the apiary. There are 3 ways to obtain the substance:

  • manually using tweezers;
  • using peach oil;
  • using a poison receiver.

Selecting venom manually requires a lot of time, skill and experience. When performing all actions with tweezers, insects must be caught one at a time and gently pressed so that the bee splashes out the poison, but not the sting. When using oil, several bees are dropped into the jar. The method is much simpler and faster, but most insects die.

The use of an electric grid, called a poison receiver, has made life much easier for beekeepers. The device sends an electrical impulse and causes the bees to release venom without damaging the stinger. In this way, the required amount of pure poison is obtained without serious harm to the hive. A net with a poison receiver is placed opposite the hive window. After that it is turned on.

It is important to remember that injecting the poison irritates the bees in itself, so approaching the hive after collecting the poison without special equipment is dangerous.

Methods of obtaining

Harvesting bee venom is not entirely humane. Insects die as a result of exposure. The substance is obtained in the fall, when the honey is collected. There are several ways to extract bee venom. Among the most accessible are mechanical, using an oil and water solution.

Mechanical method

One of the simplest methods for extracting venom from a bee. To extract the substance you will need:

  • tweezers;
  • pipette;
  • glass.

Proceed according to the following instructions:

  1. Pick up the bee with tweezers.
  2. Squeeze the insect in the chest area.
  3. Take the poison that comes out of the bee body using a pipette.
  4. Squeeze the substance onto the glass plate.

How to get bee venom

Using an oil solution

To obtain the required substance, you can use an oil solution. The method involves the use of the following tools and materials:

  • glass jar with a capacity of 1 liter;
  • 1 liter of vegetable oil;
  • polyethylene film;
  • tweezers.

The step-by-step process for obtaining poison is as follows:

  1. Pour oil into a jar.
  2. Stretch the film over the container so that the polyethylene is in contact with the oil.
  3. Take the bee with tweezers and bring it to the film.
  4. Polyethylene in contact with oil imitates skin, so the bee will bite the film.
  5. The chemical properties of bee venom are such that it will sink to the bottom of the jar. Oil is a substance where poison does not dissolve.
  6. When the required amount of substance has been collected, drain the top layer of oil and collect the poison using any convenient method.

Did you know? Physicians of Ancient China, Egypt and Greece were the first to use apitoxin therapy. This method was used to treat patients with arthritis and rheumatism.

Using an aqueous solution

This method is more complicated than the previous ones. To collect, some beekeepers euthanize insects and use plain water.

The procedure involves using:

  • glass jar;
  • sulfur dioxide;
  • water.

The method is as follows:

  1. Place the insects in a jar.
  2. Put them to sleep with sulfur dioxide. So they will start releasing poison.
  3. When the required amount of substance is collected, fill them with water.
  4. Evaporate the solution of water with poison and filter.

Composition of bee venom

The chemical composition of bee venom is complex. Externally, it is an odorous, transparent, slightly viscous liquid with a pungent and bitter taste. Apitoxin is resistant to external factors: high and low temperatures, acids and alkalis. In the human body it is destroyed by the influence of digestive juices. Dries quickly while retaining all its properties.

Dried bee venom

Most of the components in bee venom have an active effect on the body. This is what bee venom consists of: enzymes, low molecular weight protein particles, neurotransmitters, macro- and microelements and some other components. The action of all components is interconnected, their therapeutic effects organically complement each other.

Composition of bee venom

The composition of bee venom is mainly the proteins adolapin and melitin, which have a powerful anti-inflammatory effect. For comparison, the popular hydrocortisone is a hundred times less effective and at the same time has a number of side effects that bee venom does not have. Melittin, the most abundant substance, is one of the most effective anti-inflammatory agents (100 times more powerful than hydrocortisol). Adolapine is another strong anti-inflammatory substance and inhibits cyclooxygenases, it has analgesic activity. Apamin blocks calcium-dependent potassium channels, thereby enhancing the transmission of nerve impulses. Other substances, such as hyaluronidase, phospholipase A2, histamine and degranulating protein, are involved in suppressing the inflammatory response, softening the tissue and facilitating the flow of other substances. That is why bee venom is widely used to treat diseases of the immune and nervous systems, as well as diseases of infectious and viral origin.

Enzyme composition of apitoxin

Enzymes are complex proteins with high molecular weight that accelerate redox reactions involved in metabolism. Bee venom contains:

  1. Enzyme Hyaluronidase Hyaluronidase - breaks down hyaluronic acid, which is an integral part of the intercellular substance of connective tissue; this reduces the viscosity of the fabric and increases its permeability to any means, including bee toxins. Relieves swelling, smoothes scars on the skin, adhesions in internal organs, restores range of motion in joints, prevents the development of contractures (persistent movement disorders). Causes sensitization (allergization) of the body.
  2. Phospholipase A2 Phospholipase A2 - destroys phospholipids included in the walls of cell membranes, which leads to their destruction. Red blood cells are primarily affected, and blood hemolysis occurs. With the correct dosage, it prevents the formation of blood clots, but has a pronounced toxic effect on the body.
  3. Phospholipase B partially neutralizes the toxic effect of phospholipase A2.
  4. Acid phosphatase is an enzyme that causes additional sensitization.

Protein composition of bee venom

The protein composition of apitoxin is divided into zero, first and second fractions:

  1. The zero fraction contains biologically inactive proteins, their composition has not yet been fully studied; has no effect on the body;
  2. The first fraction contains 13 amino acids and active peptides:
  • melittin peptide melittin is the main active ingredient of apitoxin; when it enters the blood, it instantly dilates blood vessels, destroys red blood cells (hemolysis), prevents the formation of blood clots, causes tissue irritation, an inflammatory reaction and activation of the immune system; melittin stimulates nervous activity;
  • apamin is a peptide that potentiates (strengthens) the effect of melittin on the nervous system; increases blood pressure (BP); due to stimulation of cortisol production, it has an anti-inflammatory effect; does not sensitize the body;
  • MSD-peptide (peptide-401) – potentiates some properties of melittin (increased vascular permeability, effects on the nervous system), has a powerful anesthetic and anti-inflammatory effect.
  • adolapine – a peptide with anesthetic and anti-inflammatory properties;
  • Cardiopeptide - supports the function of the circulatory system.
  1. The second fraction contains 18 amino acids and has a moderate effect on the body. But it contains enzymes that cause hemolysis (phospholipase A2) and increase the permeability of blood vessels (hyaluronidase).

What else does bee venom contain?

The composition of bee venom is varied. In addition to enzymes and peptides, it includes:

  • neurotransmitters neurotransmitters - substances that transmit nerve impulses through nerve cells (neurons): histamine - causes allergic reactions, instantly dilates blood vessels, increases their permeability, causes allergic swelling of tissues, reduces blood pressure;
  • acetylcholine – dilates blood vessels, transmits nerve impulses from neurons to muscle cells; helps restore motor function after a stroke;
  • organic (formic) and inorganic (phosphoric, hydrochloric) acids;
  • volatile aromatic substances;
  • macro- and microelements ; Macroelements include potassium, magnesium, calcium, sodium, phosphorus and chlorine, and microelements include copper, manganese and sulfur.
  • The effect of bee venom on the human body

    The effect of bee venom on the human body is multifaceted. Therefore, if prescribed by a doctor in the correct dosage, bee venom can be used to treat many diseases. But it is important to remember that this is a toxin and should be used with caution.

    .

    Effect of bee venom on humans

    How does bee venom work:

    • under the influence of toxin enzymes, blood vessels dilate, which facilitates the rapid penetration of toxins into tissues; blood pressure decreases;
    • sensitization of the body occurs;

      important: an allergic reaction may occur during a repeated procedure;

    • the effect of bee venom on human blood: red blood cells are destroyed, blood hemolysis occurs;
    • bee venom thins the blood, preventing increased thrombus formation; in case of overdose bleeding is possible;
  • the release of the adrenal hormone cortisol into the blood sharply increases, which has a pronounced anti-inflammatory effect and suppresses the sensitizing effect of the toxin; the analgesic effect of bee venom on the human body is also associated with cortisol;
  • the content of the adrenal hormone adrenaline in the blood increases, which can contribute to an increase in blood pressure;
  • the antiseptic effect of bee venom on the human body is significant and persists even in very high dilutions; has a bactericidal effect on most known infectious agents.
  • All the properties of bee toxins are preserved in such finished products as Zdorov cream-wax or, for example, Apisatron ointment.

    Experts and patients note the effectiveness, ease of use and lack of side effects of a popular product on the Russian market - cream wax from the Zdorov company.

    Action and properties of bee venom

    Of all beekeeping products, insect venom has the most pronounced effect on the body. Apimin strengthens the immune system, fights colds, blocks the spread of atypical bacteria and rejuvenates the skin.

    Beneficial features

    Bee venom is valued in medicine for its composition. The product is a powerful analgesic of natural origin. Its effect is hundreds of times more powerful than painkillers. This is due to the presence of adopine, which enters the body along with bee venom. In addition to adopine, apimin contains:

    • cardiopeptides. The substance dilutes biological fluid and improves blood circulation;
    • peptide. Endowed with strong antibacterial properties;
    • apamim. Normalizes the functioning of the central nervous system;
    • amino acids. Improve brain activity and activate the production of serotonin.

    The positive effect of bee venom has made it possible to use it in treatment:

    • hypertension;
    • myositis;
    • osteochondrosis;
    • sleep and central nervous system disorders;
    • depression.

    Apitherapy courses promote vasodilation and resorption of formed blood clots.

    Harm from bee venom

    Treatment with bee venom can be harmful. To exclude the development of side effects, a person needs to undergo a medical examination. The use of apimin is contraindicated if:

    • individual intolerance to one of the elements in bee venom;
    • presence of sexually transmitted diseases;
    • tuberculosis;
    • mental state disorder;
    • pathology of the kidneys, liver and pancreas in the acute stage;
    • heart failure;
    • period of bearing a child;
    • onset of menstruation.

    Important:

    After a bee sting, there is an increase in blood flow and the process of cell renewal begins. In addition, the entry of apimin into the body helps neutralize harmful microbes.

    In other cases, treatment with bee venom will be beneficial. But remember, a beekeeping product is not a panacea. Especially if the pathology is at an advanced stage.

    First aid for a bee sting

    Single bee stings are not dangerous to humans. But only if there is no risk of an allergic reaction. However, if several individuals attacked at the same time, first aid must be provided. The following steps help neutralize the harmful effects of the poison:

    • carefully remove the sting without pressing on the sac of poison. Use tweezers or make a loop of thread;
    • the bite site is treated with ammonia or Suprastin solution;
    • add ice or grated fresh parsley.

    The victim needs to take any antihistamine and organize plenty of fluids.

    First aid for a bee sting

    Bee venom can actually lead to death. It is impossible to 100% protect yourself from a bite, so it is important to know how to act immediately after the bite.

    First aid for a bee sting is as follows:

    1. Get your tweezers ready. It is better to disinfect it with alcohol first. If you don't have a tool, use your fingernails. Carefully remove the sting without crushing it.
    2. Treat the bite site with an alcohol solution of calendula or suprastin, ammonia or antihistamine ointment, for example, Fenistil.
    3. Apply a cold object. Ice works great. It can be replaced with fresh vegetables, for example, cucumber, a cloth soaked in cold water, or a metal object.
    4. Take an antihistamine. Suprastin is popular among people, but you can choose any available remedy.
    5. During the day, drink 1.5–2 times more water than usual.

    Important:

    Podmor is useful for male potency. Its regular use improves sexual function.

    A medicine based on bee venom is indicated during the recovery period after surgery, loss of strength, long-term illnesses, against aging and for strengthening hair.

    Indications for bee venom

    They resort to bee venom when other drugs are powerless against a number of pathologies. The list of these includes:

    • joint ailments, chronic;
    • sclerosis;
    • thickening of biological fluid;
    • CNS disorders;
    • pathologies of the heart muscle.

    Bee venom is indicated for vegetative disorders, frequent headaches and chronic fatigue.

    Treatment with apitoxin cannot be used

    is strictly prohibited under certain conditions . These include:

    • individual intolerance;
    • heart failure;
    • pathologies of biological fluid and hematopoiesis;
    • diseases of the genitourinary system, adrenal glands, kidneys, bile ducts and pancreas;
    • venereal pathologies;
    • diabetes.

    Treatment with drugs containing apitoxin is not carried out if the body is exhausted. Because a weak body is not able to cope with the toxic component.

    Methods of introducing bee venom into the body

    Apimin is administered through an insect bite or with medication. It is more effective to administer the product in its pure form. However, there is a risk of not getting into the desired zone. Through medication with hood more professionally. However, treatment takes a long time.

    What is treated with bee venom

    Treatment with bee venom is called apitherapy. This folk method of eliminating diseases was known to our ancestors, and in the modern world it has found wide use as an alternative to traditional medicine.

    The unique composition of insect venom makes it indispensable in the fight against a wide variety of diseases. Let's consider the use of the substance in more detail.

    More information about the use of bee venom in folk medicine is in the video.

    For multiple sclerosis

    Multiple sclerosis is a dangerous autoimmune disease in which the body's defense systems react aggressively to the nerve sheaths. The gradual death of nerve cells and tissues leads to the progression of the disease and serious nervous disorders.

    Traditional medicine cannot yet completely cure this disease, limiting itself to symptomatic therapy. But bee venom is considered an effective means of combating the disease.

    The substances included in its composition stop the destruction of nerve cells, and amino acids provoke the formation of new endings. Thus, the use of poison can not only stop the development of the disease, but also completely eliminate it in the initial stages.

    Treatment of hypertension

    Venom obtained from bees is considered an effective means of combating hypertension. This substance perfectly dilates blood vessels, reduces blood viscosity and prevents thickening of vessel walls.

    Note: The folk remedy is considered especially effective in the initial stages of pathology. But even in advanced cases, the use of poison helps reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke.

    The most effective method is considered to be acupuncture - subcutaneous injection of poison into certain points on the body. However, in ancient times they used a simpler method - 4 bees were planted on the patient’s collar twice a week. Bee stings provoked the injection of poison into the body and had the desired therapeutic effect.

    When treating live bee stings, it is important to strictly follow the technology and avoid too strong and frequent stings. Otherwise, the effect will be reversed and the patient may suffer from allergies.

    For joints

    As a component of ointments and balms, the poison can relieve joint pain (Figure 4). The components included in the substance prevent blood stagnation in the extremities and serve as an effective means of preventing varicose veins. In addition, applying poison mixed with herbal ingredients to painful areas perfectly relieves inflammation.

    Figure 4. Using poison to relieve joint pain

    Also, the poison itself and products based on it are used to treat radiculitis, relieve severe pain after intense physical activity and as an aid to combat rheumatism.

    For skin diseases

    Like other bee products, insect venom is also used as an external agent. Mixed with vegetable oils and decoctions, it helps fight psoriasis, relieves peeling and accelerates the healing of wounds and ulcers on the body.

    It is worth considering that such poison is a powerful allergen, and it should not be used by people intolerant to bee products, even as an external remedy.

    Treatment with bee venom is called apitherapy.

    A wide variety of medicines and ointments for external or internal use are made from bee venom.

    A wide variety of medicines and ointments for external or internal use are made from bee venom.

    Among the most obvious harmful properties of bee venom are:

    • destruction of red blood cells;
    • blood thinning;
    • disorders of mineral metabolism;
    • leaching of mineral salts;
    • increased glucose levels;
    • the appearance of edema;
    • heart rhythm disturbances,
    • the appearance of protein in the urine.

    Important!

    Bee bites on the neck and tonsils are considered especially dangerous!

    Bee venom in cosmetology

    Aitoxin, as the main component of the poison, has not only bactericidal, anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties, but also the ability to rejuvenate the skin and the body as a whole (Figure 5). It is these properties that have led to the active use of poison in cosmetology.

    Note: The effect of the poison is similar to Botox injections. But, unlike this chemical, the poison is a completely harmless way to restore skin elasticity.

    Figure 5. Use of poison as a cosmetic product

    Even the poison included in industrial creams has a beneficial effect on the skin. The substance stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, eliminates fine wrinkles and makes deep ones less noticeable. Lip balms and creams make them fuller and more voluminous, and the poison contained in lipsticks makes the color brighter and more lasting.

    Bee venom for wrinkles

    All components of the poison provoke slight irritation of the epidermis. This explains the effectiveness of such products in the fight against wrinkles (Figure 6).

    Figure 6. Using poison to combat wrinkles

    Apitoxin and amino acids of the product stimulate collagen production, renew skin cells and make the epidermis more elastic. There is an opinion that bee venom will soon be used for anti-aging procedures and will completely replace Botox. This is explained by the fact that it has much fewer contraindications and side effects, and the end result is the same as when injecting chemicals under the skin.

    Negative effects of bee venom

    Do not forget that the properties of bee venom are not limited to just beneficial effects on the body. It also has pronounced hemorrhagic and hemolytic properties. In addition, it has neurotoxic and histamine-like effects.

    With single stings, the body most often reacts with a local inflammatory reaction, which resolves within 24-48 hours. With multiple stings, severe toxic intoxication occurs, which can be fatal.

    About the beneficial properties of bee venom

    Why is bee sting treatment effective?

    Treatment with beekeeping products has long been considered effective because of its naturalness, and because the results were visible quickly enough and lasted for a long time. Apitoxin is a product of the glands of worker bees. The main, natural purpose of poison is not treatment at all, but protection - from one’s own kind, from other enemies, which include both wild animals and people. The concentration of active components in the poison depends on the age of the insect, how full it is, and the quality of the feeding environment. Baby bees are not able to secrete poison, just like drones, which do not have a sting at all. The queen of the hive, the queen, also stings quite rarely; it is not a royal thing to spray her secretory substances. Most often, worker bees sting, that is, workers, especially those aged 16 to 18 days. Moreover, such bees can sting only after they have eaten pollen.

    Apitoxin is much more active and milder in terms of its aggressive effect on the human body than snake venom. Among the main healing properties of apitoxin are the following:

    • Enzymatic activity is 25-30 times higher than that of snake toxin.
    • Antibacterial action.
    • Antiseptic and bactericidal action.

    The list of healing properties of bee venom is so long that the scope of the article simply will not cover it; in addition, all prescriptions must be made by a trained specialist - an apitherapist, since treatment with bee stings also has contraindications:

    Who is not recommended for “live” therapy with bees:

    • A person who has been diagnosed with idiosyncrasy for bee products, as well as someone who has already suffered a serious bee sting.
    • The period of exacerbation of any disease.
    • Purulent inflammatory processes.
    • Diseases accompanied by decompensation of internal organs.
    • Chronic or acute form of kidney disease, liver disease, gastric ulcer.
    • Cardiopathy – myocardial dystrophy, pericarditis, angina pectoris, aortic aneurysm.
    • Systemic blood diseases.
    • Bronchial asthma.
    • Oncological process.
    • Diabetes mellitus (insulin-dependent form).
    • Pregnancy, breastfeeding period.
    • Tuberculosis.
    • Children under five years old.
    • Hepatitis.
    • Cachexia.
    • Skin and venereal diseases.
    • Some types of mental illness.
    • Treatment with bees after vaccination is carried out with caution (a break of at least a month is required).

    Treatment for bee stings is carried out in several ways:

    1. The first stage is a biotest, that is, checking for a possible allergic reaction. The test is carried out by stinging the lumbar region, then observation is carried out for an hour. If there are no signs of an aggressive immune response, treatment can be carried out.
    2. Also, before the course of treatment, a whole series of laboratory tests is carried out - blood (hemoglobin, leukocytes, red blood cells, ESR, etc.), urine (sugar, protein).
    3. The bite test is repeated after laboratory tests are obtained.
    4. Treatment with live bees is carried out similarly to the acupuncture method, that is, at biologically active points of the body. The bee is applied to a certain point, carefully holding it with tweezers. Immediately after the sting, the bee is removed, but the reservoir with healing apitoxin remains in the body for the prescribed period (from 5 to 10 minutes).
    5. The course of treatment involves sessions with an increasing number of bites, as well as breaks between procedures.

    Such exotic therapy, obviously, has not been fully studied and has not yet received proper evaluation, despite the fact that there is official data on 80% of long-livers from the total number of beekeepers.

    How to treat bee stings

    Treatment with bee venom

    Apitherapy includes various types of treatment, including the use of drugs prepared on the basis of bee venom.

    Bee sting

    The process itself is quite simple and not much different from natural insect attacks. A live bee is picked up with tweezers and brought to the surface of the skin, where it stings. The treatment regimen for bee stings is drawn up on an individual basis. The duration of the healing process can be up to 1.5 months, during which up to 200 stings are carried out. Up to 40 insects are used in one session, and you should start with one bite, gradually increasing their number.

    The procedure is carried out no more than 2 times a week. The sting is removed from the skin after a quarter of an hour so that the bee toxins can be absorbed into the blood as much as possible. The consequences of a bite are allergies in the form of redness, swelling and burning. Over time, this process becomes addictive, as a result of which the unpleasant sensations become less pronounced.

    On a note!

    This method of treating bee stings has two main disadvantages: pain upon contact with the insect and lack of control over the amount of poison injected by the pollinator of flower plants into the human body.

    Injections

    The procedure differs from the one described above in the absence of pain. Treatment is carried out by injecting purified poison under the skin near the affected area of the body or diseased organ. The dosage, frequency of procedures and course duration are selected individually. In addition, the nature and stage of the disease, as well as the patient’s weight and the presence of concomitant pathologies, should be taken into account.

    Inhalations

    This procedure involves inhaling toxic fumes, through which the healing components enter the human body through the lungs. Absorbed into the bloodstream, they spread throughout the body and have a healing effect on it.

    Treatment with bee venom

    Pills

    Used to treat radiculitis, as well as neurological diseases. The tablet is kept under the tongue until it is completely absorbed. It is not recommended to swallow the drug, as this can lead to disruption of the gastrointestinal tract.

    Cream

    One of the simplest and safest methods of apitherapy is the use of a cream or ointment based on bee venom. The product has a gel-like consistency and is applied to the affected area of the skin with gentle massaging movements. The duration of treatment depends on the individual characteristics and degree of the patient’s disease.

    Baths

    An effective way to treat diseases of the joints and blood vessels is to take baths using powdered bee venom. Such healing procedures are also prescribed during the rehabilitation period.

    By combining and alternating these treatment methods, you can achieve effective results.

    Important!

    However, not everyone can use apitherapy, and it is even more unsafe to treat bee stings at home. This treatment method cannot be used by people suffering from liver diseases, since the appearance of toxic substances in the body can result in destructive changes.

    Apitherapy is also contraindicated in case of heart failure, since the components included in bee venom increase heart rate. It is strictly forbidden for diabetics to be treated with bee stings, since toxic components that enter the bloodstream contribute to the destruction of blood vessels. In this connection, there is a need to consult an experienced doctor.

    Treatment of vertebral hernia with bee stings

    If hundreds of diseases are treated with bee venom, from scars to multiple sclerosis, then treating a vertebral hernia with bee stings should not be surprising in principle. Even those who have not yet ventured into such an unusual procedure have probably already used ointments containing apitoxin and are convinced of their effectiveness. Accordingly, you can start apitoxin therapy - this is the name of the method of treatment using a bee sting. In addition to treating a hernia, bee stings help alleviate the symptoms of osteochondrosis, as they relieve local inflammation and activate blood flow to the damaged area. As for intervertebral hernia, apitherapy can relieve spasms and blockages in the muscles surrounding the disc; in addition, as a result of relaxation, it becomes possible to resume all metabolic processes in damaged tissues. It is the ability of bee venom to fight the degenerative process in the vertebrae that makes the procedure effective and efficient.

    Treatment of vertebral hernia with bee stings is carried out using the method of acupuncture, that is, applying insects to special biologically active points on the back. In addition to the fact that the poison affects bone tissue, it quickly penetrates the adrenal cortex and activates the production of anti-inflammatory hormones, thus providing not so much a local analgesic effect, but a deep therapeutic effect.

    In conclusion, we should add some interesting facts that will help rehabilitate the bee sting in the eyes of readers.

    • A mandatory product included in the diet of astronauts is honey, and the space first aid kit includes topical preparations containing apitoxin.
    • Bees are indicators of air pollution. If you go out into nature, where trees and flowers are blooming and you don’t see a single bee, then the environmental situation in this place is unfavorable.
    • Bees circling around the hive (swarm bees) will not sting a person; this is done by “workers”, that is, those insects who are sent to collect nectar.
    • The queen bee never stings a person; she reserves her venom for possible rivals - contenders for the “throne”.
    • There are bees - customs officers, who are specially trained to recognize the smell of narcotic and explosive substances. In addition to the fact that several bees learn this action, they pass on “knowledge” to their relatives in the hive.
    • According to legend, the founding father of medicine, Hippocrates, who not only sang the healing properties of honey and bee venom, but was also keen on beekeeping, lived to be 107 years old.
