Dichlorvos Varan for bedbugs - instructions, composition and reviews

For many centuries, cockroaches have coexisted with people, constantly trying to penetrate their homes and causing many problems and inconveniences with their presence. That is why the issue of getting rid of these insects is still very relevant today.

Unfortunately, cockroaches have very successfully learned to adapt to all kinds of insecticides. This makes their complete eradication from residential premises a very difficult process. At the moment, there are several effective methods of pest control, but one of the most popular and successful over the years has been and remains the use of Dichlorvos. It is this miracle remedy that will be discussed in our article.

The effectiveness of Dichlorvos against cockroaches

The effectiveness of this product has been proven by many years of experience in its use. Due to the various variations in the routes of entry of Dichlorvos into the body of insects (through breathing, chitinous cover, oral cavity and stomach), the drug becomes truly fatal for them.

However, everyone knows about the unique ability of cockroaches to develop a kind of immunity to insecticides. Fortunately, manufacturers of modern chemicals have found a way out - they put several similarly active components into the product at once.

Thanks to this, you can safely poison insects without fear of their return. Not a single pest can withstand all pyrethroids, because they have a radically different composition and mechanism of action on the body of cockroaches.

In addition to all of the above, it is worth noting a fairly quick effect. If you follow all the rules for using Dichlorvos, it begins to act immediately and within a couple of hours most of the pest population dies. And due to the drug’s ability to have a prolonged action, none of the remaining cockroaches have a chance to survive, which also indicates its high effectiveness.

Do insecticides kill insect eggs?

The oothecae of cockroaches are less vulnerable than adults. They are very resistant to chemicals - Dichlorvos will not take them. Therefore, if there is at least one masonry left in the apartment, it is worth either destroying it physically (using a narrow nozzle of a vacuum cleaner, exposure to hot steam or, conversely, frosty air), or after a short period of time, carry out disinfestation again.

What other parasites does the drug fight against?

“Dichlorvos” is a very universal remedy that helps get rid of not only cockroaches. It can be used if there are any unwanted insects in the home: bedbugs, midges, fleas, ants, ticks, mosquitoes, flies and other pests. However, when fighting another type of parasite, read the instructions carefully, since your actions in each individual case will be slightly different.

Jurax product

The remedy “Yurax” for cockroaches and bedbugs based on 25% cypermethrin is a highly active Russian drug that helps get rid of most types of parasitic insects.

In addition to cockroaches and bedbugs, the drug destroys wasps, fleas, ants, gamas and ixodid ticks, fly larvae and mosquitoes.

Widely used in medical, laboratory, municipal disinfestation, approved for children's and food organizations.

General description and characteristics

The Yurax bedbug repellent is produced in the form of a transparent emulsion concentrate with a characteristic odor, the color of which varies from brown-yellow to red-brown.

Belongs to the group of synthetic pyrethroids, the advantages of which include: high toxic activity, trailing effect and speed of action.

In addition to the active ingredient - 25% cypermethrin contains an antioxidant, emulsifying components, and a dissolving base.

Without having a systemic effect, the drug remains on treated surfaces for up to 20-30 days, maintaining its effect regardless of temperature and exposure to ultraviolet radiation. Repeated treatment, as a rule, is not required, since during the period of action all generations of insects have time to die. Like any drug based on cypermethrin, the Yurax bedbug remedy does not cause resistance.

The principle of action of the drug "Yurax"

“Yurax” for cockroaches and bedbugs is an insecticide whose contact-intestinal mechanism of action manifests itself after the product enters the insect’s digestive system. The product has high starting activity, paralyzing the nervous system of adult insects and larvae.

When ingested, cypermethrin quickly affects nerve cells due to immediate connection with the lipophilic elements of the membrane. As a result of its depolarization, processes in the sodium channel slow down, the normal movement of sodium ions is disrupted, and synaptic disorders incompatible with life occur.

How to use the drug "Yurax"?

A working emulsion is obtained by diluting the drug in water immediately before acaricidal treatment. Mixing the product with water at room temperature, stir it continuously for 5-8 minutes until the precipitate dissolves. The consumption rate depends on the type of insects, the density of settlement, and when treating against ticks - on the density of plant growth.

When using "Yurax" against bedbugs and cockroaches, you will only need 2 ml of product per liter of water - the optimal concentration in terms of effectiveness and safety.

It is convenient to use a spray for processing

It is important to spray the product wherever insects may be hiding, including hard-to-reach places

If all “dispersal” zones have been treated, re-treatment will not be required. The drug works the first time.

How safe is the Yurax bedbug repellent?

The drug belongs to the third category of substances that are not significantly dangerous for warm-blooded organisms, and in contact with skin - to the fourth category of danger (GOST 12.1.007-76). If you follow the instructions and consumption standards, it is not dangerous for children and pets.

A weak sensitizing effect has been proven. The emulsion prepared for processing slightly irritates the epidermis and does not have a resorptive effect. In contact with the mucous membrane of the eye, it creates a pronounced irritating effect.

When working with the drug “Yurax”, it is advisable to use a personal protective kit: gown, headscarf, gloves, goggles, tight-fitting respirators. Be sure to follow the rules of hygiene after treatment - thorough hand washing, shower.

In case of poisoning, it is recommended to rinse your mouth with water and baking soda, and then take 10-15 tablets of activated carbon. Remove the emulsion from the skin with a cotton swab, then rinse with a 2% solution of baking soda. If the drug gets into your eyes, you should immediately rinse them thoroughly for 10-15 minutes. For rinsing, you can use water or a 2% soda solution.

Chemical composition of the product

The first "Dichlorvos" appeared on store shelves more than 30 years ago, and its basis was dimethyl dichlorovinyl phosphate. It did an excellent job of killing insect pests, but the toxic effect on humans and pets was too significant.

This made its use in residential premises a very dangerous undertaking, and the stinking smell after it had to be aired out for quite a long time.

Modern insecticides produced under this brand are no worse at poisoning cockroaches, but thanks to completely different active substances, their toxicity is several times less. Almost all of them are based on the action of synthetic pyrethroids - artificially created analogues of natural pyrethrins.

Often in the composition of modern products you can also find inexpensive and effective cypermethrin, piperonyl butoxide, permethrin, flavors, stabilizers, preservatives and various fragrances.

Important: despite the fact that many types of Dichlorvos are now produced either completely odorless or with a pleasant aroma, remember - this is achieved by adding fragrances, and not reducing the insecticide, and you should behave with extreme caution with them.

How does Dichlorvos act on cockroaches?

Pyrethroids, which are part of all modern “Dichlorophosoph”, have a nerve-paralytic effect when they enter the body of cockroaches through breathing or with food. They seriously affect nerve endings and provoke irreversible disorders in the central nervous system of insects, causing disruptions in the transmission of impulses. This subsequently leads to suffocation, fatal paralysis and death of the pest.

How to use the product correctly

You can successfully poison cockroaches with these chemicals at home only if you follow all the instructions and rules for their use. In order to carry out disinfestation most effectively and avoid negative consequences, follow our advice:

  • Remove all residents, including pets, from the apartment or private house.
  • Remove bed linen and personal items. Pack food and dishes in plastic bags, roll up carpets and place them in a corner. If possible, move furnishings away from all walls and close windows tightly.
  • Shake the can of the product very thoroughly and spray it at a distance of 15-20 cm from the surface in the favorite places where insects live, such as: cracks in the floors, holes under baseboards, wallpaper and furniture, around doors and window frames, behind pipes and radiators, in in and behind kitchen cabinets, near sinks and under pipes.
  • After spraying is completed, immediately leave the living space for at least 3-4 hours - the longer you are gone, the more effective the destruction of insects will be.
  • Upon returning home, be sure to thoroughly ventilate all the rooms (initially it may smell bad or stink, but this unpleasant aroma will disappear fairly quickly) and immediately do a general wet cleaning to prevent the risk of poisoning.

Despite the fact that “Dichlorvos” is effective against cockroaches already from the first treatment, it is advisable to repeat all the above manipulations with a break of 10 days. This way you will be able to achieve the greatest efficiency in pest control and will be sure that even single individuals did not survive.

Tip: a small part of cockroaches, after treating the premises with an insecticidal aerosol, as a rule, escape to neighbors through the ventilation openings. Therefore, to prevent them from returning after a couple of weeks, it makes sense to place traps in the indicated places, apply crayons or gels with a longer action.

How to use the product

Shake the can before use. The method of application depends on the type of insect. Against flightless insects - spray from a distance of 15-20 cm on the surface - places of settlement and routes of movement of pests. Recommended concentration on the surface is 20 g/m2. meter, which corresponds to 14-15 seconds of spraying. The windows must be open.

Against flying - start spraying the product from the part of the room opposite the entrance, retreating towards the door. Direct the jet into the air, especially towards the maximum concentration of insects. Close the windows during processing. Consumption rate – 10-12 seconds per area of 15-20 square meters. m or 14-18 by 25-30 sq. m. Against moths - spray at the rate of 1 second/sq. m, without treating clothes.

Features of application on surfaces against various insects:

ants - pay special attention to paths (routes of movement) and nests; cockroaches and bedbugs - it is important to treat baseboards, cracks in furniture, areas where wallpaper is coming off, and the back side of paintings; fleas - treat cracks in the floor and behind the baseboard, thresholds, the lower part of the walls (1 m), animal bedding (then they need to be washed); leather beetles - baseboards under radiators and cabinets, window sills, furniture joints, back surfaces of cabinets.

The drug is not intended to combat wasps; a specialized Masquitall aerosol is recommended for this purpose.

Security measures

Although modern types of Dichlorvos are not as harmful as their predecessors, it is still worth learning some precautions before contacting chemicals and strictly following them:

  • before carrying out the treatment, you should dress in clothes without any open areas, wear thick rubber gloves, goggles and a respirator or cotton-gauze bandage;
  • all items with which households and animals have direct contact, and food products must be removed as far as possible from toxic substances;
  • the room must be completely enclosed.

Important: if you suddenly feel a deterioration in your health, signs of poisoning or an allergic reaction (sore throat, dizziness, unpleasant taste on the tongue, etc.), immediately go out into the fresh air.

By following all the above safety measures, you will reduce the risk of poisoning with an insecticide to a minimum. So don’t neglect them and take care of your health and the well-being of those around you.

Instructions for use

To get rid of uninvited guests, you just need to follow the instructions. The product belongs to hazard category 3, which is insignificant. There are 4 hazard classes in total, 4 are harmless, 1 is dangerous. 3 is low-risk, but this does not mean that you do not need to protect yourself and your loved ones from it. Before use you need to do the following.

  1. Prepare a respirator, goggles, gloves and clothes that you don’t mind (you can use disposable ones, like doctors). This is your personal protective equipment.
  2. Remove all personal items (phone, computer, dishes, toothbrushes, combs, glasses, etc.) and food from the processing area.
  3. Think of a place where you will then remove the container with the remaining toxic substance. It must be inaccessible to children and animals. Remember that aerosol products must not be stored near heated devices and surfaces!

Before using Dichlorvos, all personal items, food, kitchen utensils, clothing and linen are removed.

  1. It is good to close windows and doors.
  2. Move furniture away from the wall.
  3. Wear protective gloves and goggles.
  4. Spray the aerosol in places where bedbugs are most concentrated.
  5. Carefully treat the furniture, especially the seams.
  6. After applying the insecticide, you must immediately leave the room for at least 30 minutes. After returning, you need to open the windows and ventilate everything.
  7. Do wet cleaning. When purchasing a product, it is necessary to take into account the amount of the drug to treat not only the room, but also the furniture.

Dichlorvos should be sprayed at a distance of 20 centimeters from the object. Dichlorvos “Neo odorless” is a drug with a high level of toxicity; it harms not only parasites, but can also harm humans and pets. Manufacturers indicate on the bottle that the insecticide is odorless. But consumer reviews say otherwise. There is a “scent”, but it is weak compared to other insecticidal preparations.

Pros:

  • low aerosol consumption;
  • 100% result;
  • low cost.

Reviews

Evgenia, 34 years old, Stavropol

“I learned about Varan from cockroaches a long time ago. As soon as I see the first insect, I immediately begin to treat the room from the surfaces where it was found. After such manipulations there are no more insects in the apartment!”

Svetlana, 29 years old, Ufa

“I regularly use Dichlorvos in the fight against cockroaches, ants and other unwanted living creatures, since they are frequent guests in a private home. To achieve the greatest effect, you should find an insect nest, which is quite problematic. Therefore, I use this product in combination with various crayons and gels.”

Alexey, 41 years old, St. Petersburg

“I bought two cylinders of dichlorvos at the store - standard and Neo. The active substances in them are actually the same, it’s just that the smell in Neo is weaker - it didn’t disappear completely, of course, but it wasn’t as intense. I think it’s better to pay a little more and buy a product with a less pronounced odor. My vote is definitely for Neo.”

Angelina, 35 years old, Nizhny Novgorod

“Cockroaches usually appeared in the bathroom one by one, and I easily destroyed them with a slipper. But after the neighbors carried out disinfestation, they migrated to me as a whole colony! In the store I bought the first insect control product that caught my eye and it turned out to be “Dichlorvos”. I sprayed out almost the entire bottle in the bathroom and cleaned the kitchen a little. A couple of hours later I arrived home - a bunch of dead cockroaches. As expected, I immediately ventilated and washed the apartment. For six months now not a single cockroach has been seen. I can’t be happier with the effect, I didn’t even think that the product would work like that!”

Based on all available information and consumer reviews, we can conclude that Dichlorvos is indeed one of the most effective, affordable and proven means of combating cockroaches and other parasitic insects. So use insecticidal spray wisely and carefully and let your home be cleared of unwanted “guests” once and for all!

Using Varan against cockroaches and other insects. Composition and active substances. Mechanism of influence on cockroaches. How to properly carry out the treatment yourself in an apartment. Security measure. Reviews and recommendations for use.

For many years, people have been fighting cockroaches, which settle next to people and perfectly adapt to any conditions. Not only are they unpleasant and cause a lot of inconvenience, cockroaches can carry a variety of infections and cause allergic reactions and skin diseases.

Everyone remembers well that previously there was not such a huge selection of insecticides as there is now, so dichlorvos was mainly used for disinsection; it was quite effective, but had some features and disadvantages. Now a modern version of it is presented on the market - Varan. A fairly popular product that can clear a room of “uninvited guests.”

Dichlorvos Varan can rightfully be considered one of the best - the product is produced in a convenient format, it is effective not only against flies and cockroaches, but also bedbugs. In addition, the tool is available to a wide range of users.

Description of the product Dichlorvos Varan

The aerosol preparation Dichlorvos Varan, otherwise it can be called DDVF, belongs to the group of synthetic insecticides. Its duration of action is determined by specialists to be 18-20 days. Therefore, dichlorvos monitor lizard against bedbugs can effectively get rid of parasites, because fleas and other “uninvited” guests do not get used to it. The components of the chemical product do not have a negative impact on the environment. The universal drug has only one drawback - its effect does not begin from the first minute.

The main ingredient of the insecticide is dimethyldichlorovinyl phosphate, it suppresses the nervous system of insects; after using Dichlorvos, young and adult flies, mosquitoes, moths and other insects die. In addition, the drug contains the ingredients tetramethrin, cypermethrin and synergist. Interacting, these components create a single substance that acts against cockroaches, ants and bedbugs.

When describing the product, it is worth noting that it contains a fragrance that may resemble the aroma of lemon. In some cases, the manufacturer produces Dichlorvos Varan odorless.

Purchasing and using the drug at home

You can purchase the drug in various stores that offer customers household chemical products. The volume of aerosol cans varies; the industry offers containers from 150 to 300 ml. The aerosol size should be selected based on the scale of treatment. If the room is small, then you should not purchase a large container of poison. With a small cylinder you can irrigate an apartment of 50-55 sq.m.

If you need to get rid of bedbugs, then you should pay attention to Varan A - its price is reasonable and affordable for a person with average income. These chemical products can be ordered on a special website, where it is easy to find detailed characteristics of the product and reviews about it.

Instructions for use of Varan are printed on each aerosol can. By following it, it is easy to rid any room of annoying insects. Manufacturers advise that before carrying out activities to exterminate flies, bedbugs, cockroaches or other crawling and flying insects, carry out wet cleaning in an apartment or other room. Then all doors and windows are closed.

After reading the instructions for using the insecticide, it is important to thoroughly shake the container with the drug. When treating a room, the vessel must be kept at a distance of 30-35 cm from the floor or other object. After the procedure for exterminating insects, the rooms are ventilated for 20-30 minutes. In certain cases, the room must be ventilated for several hours.

When working with dichlorvos, it is important to follow your own safety precautions, i.e. a number of requirements must be met:

  1. During the period of spraying the aerosol, the mouth and nose should be protected with a respirator or gauze bandage folded in several layers.
  2. Eyes also require protection; special glasses can be used.

Positive and negative qualities of monitor lizard

One of the negative properties of Varan Antiklop is that it is difficult to process. The aerosol is endowed with a low degree of saturation of active substances, so it is necessary to treat places where bedbugs or other insects accumulate. Some places in the sofa or under the bathtub are difficult to reach - in this case you have to use a tube that acts as an adapter.

The short activity of the product is another drawback. After treatment, the room needs to be ventilated, which means that the active substances will evaporate and the effect of the drug will end. And another drawback is the slight toxicity of the product. The components of Varan will not cause great harm to health, but can cause slight dizziness or nausea. The positive properties of the product include accessibility, effectiveness and convenience when sprayed on open areas. The product does not need to be specially prepared before use, it is not dissolved in water, and is not placed in separate places - just shake the bottle well and start pollinating in the required places. The insect repellent is produced without a pungent odor, which can cause irritation when treating rooms. Dichlorvos is recognized by consumers as one of the most effective against bedbugs, which other drugs cannot cope with. Its popularity has not decreased over the years.

Reviews from active consumers of dichlorvos monitor lizard

  1. Valentina: “I have been using Dichlorvos Varan for many years in a row, most often I use the product against flies and mosquitoes. The product is very easy to use, one bottle is enough for the entire summer season. Flies and mosquitoes die instantly; I ventilate the room for no more than 30 minutes.”
  2. Stepan: “I had to treat the apartment with Varan aerosol after cockroaches got into it, I believe that they came from unscrupulous neighbors. Dichlorvos Varan coped with the task the first time, there was no need to repeat the procedure. Treated all baseboards, risers and vents. After the event, I eliminated even small cracks near the walls, now everything is in order.”
  3. Olga: “For the summer, I annually purchase the drug Varan to kill flying insects. I use this product to save woolen and fur items from being eaten by moths, I am satisfied with the result, I carry out the treatment at the beginning of summer and closer to autumn, I ventilate the items in the air. I buy an unscented product.”

Description of the product "Varan"

If we consider dichlorvos, which was used previously, we can note its effectiveness. It was a fairly strong insecticide and could cope with large colonies of Prussians. But it was quite toxic and dangerous not only for cockroaches, but also for pets. In addition, it had a very pungent and unpleasant odor, which was difficult to remove from the room, which brought discomfort, especially in residential areas.

Speaking of the modern version, an improved formula is used here, which made it possible to develop an effective drug that has many advantages. Today it can be purchased in different release forms, so everyone can choose the appropriate option depending on the situation.

Composition and active substances

Artificial pyrethroids are used as active substances, which ensures effectiveness and at the same time safety. They are not so dangerous for pets, but are destructive to cockroaches and other insects.

Regarding pyrethroids, they can be compared to a natural substance found in the well-known chamomile. And, by the way, it is a folk remedy in the fight against cockroaches. The effectiveness of the drug lies in the fact that it contains not one active substance, but several. They all differ in chemical structure. Many have heard that cockroaches have the ability to develop immunity to pesticides, but in this case such a possibility is excluded. Because if one poison does not work, the second will definitely kill the pest. It should also be said that the modern drug has a pleasant aroma and will not cause discomfort.

The most popular types of Dichlorvos

As this product spread, different types began to appear. They may differ significantly in composition, but there are also drugs with similar types of active ingredients produced under this brand. This means that in order to ensure the required effect, it is necessary to select a product taking into account the type of pest that is planned to be destroyed.

Dichlorvos Neo odorless

This product has an advantage over analogues - no odor appears when sprayed, which allows the room to be used soon after treatment. The drug helps get rid of midges, flies, moths and various crawling pests. Permethrin and cypermethrin are used as active ingredients. Piperonyl butoxide enhances their effect. The duration of action of toxic substances is 2 weeks. During this period, the product retains its properties, which means it continues to destroy pests.

Dichlorvos Varan

The composition includes tetramethrin, cypermethrin, piperonyl butoxide. Flea monitor is not used. The manufacturer recommends using it in the fight against cockroaches, flies, bedbugs, and ants. The product is available in aerosol form. Duration of action - 3 weeks

It is important to consider that the drug does not affect insect eggs. For this reason, it is necessary to carry out the treatment again after a few days/week, when the larvae emerge from the shells.

Dichlorvos Eco

The advantage of this product is its relatively pleasant smell (after spraying, the aroma of lavender remains). However, despite this, treatment with Dichlorvos of this type is still carried out using protective equipment. The drug is recommended for the destruction of any insects. You can purchase it in aerosol form. The volume of the bottle is small, so to treat large areas it is recommended to immediately buy more product.

Dichlorphone Universal

This product is used to kill flies, cockroaches, ants, mosquitoes, moths and other pests. The composition includes more active ingredients: cypermethrin, permethrin, tetramethrin, piperonyl butoxide. Due to this, it has a universal effect. After spraying Dichlorvos Terminator Universal, it is necessary to ventilate the room longer than in the case of odorless analogues. At the same time, there is a risk that the specific smell will remain in the room and will disappear gradually.

Choice of dichlorvos

Now you can buy dichlorvos in a wide range. Before giving preference to one or another insecticide, you need to know about some features.

  • Varan. The drug is aimed specifically at combating cockroaches, which significantly increases its effectiveness. After disinsection, it remains active for a long time. Unlike other insecticides, it has a detrimental effect on egg laying. If the room is properly treated, repeated procedures will not be required.
  • Neo, Eco. It has a universal effect and can be used against ticks, fleas, cockroaches, ants and other insects. Quite often it is used in veterinary medicine.
  • Taiga. It is also a universal drug with fairly fast and effective action. After using this pesticide, the room will need to be thoroughly ventilated.
  • Clean house . Refers to old drugs. Known to be a fairly effective insecticide that can clear heavily infested areas. But it is toxic and dangerous for people and pets. Requires careful use and compliance with safety precautions.

Advantages and disadvantages

Main advantages of the product:

  • Efficiency and ability to clean heavily contaminated areas.
  • Prolonged action, which allows you to exterminate surviving individuals.
  • Sold freely.
  • Low cost.
  • Does not leave marks on the surface.

Regarding the shortcomings, they are certainly present. The disadvantage is that it is a toxic substance, work with which should be carried out only when using protective equipment and observing safety measures.

Mechanism of action

The pesticide has a neuroparalytic effect. When active substances enter the insect’s body, the transmission of nerve impulses is disrupted. The result is paralysis of the insect, and then death. Thanks to spraying, the substance penetrates into hard-to-reach places, which significantly increases efficiency.

When treating a room, the substance is applied to those surfaces where insects are most often seen. It is also necessary to find the nests and apply the drug to them. It is quite easy to find nests indoors; it is necessary to inspect hard-to-reach places; where a colony of cockroaches lives there are feces and other remains of vital activity. It is better to carry out treatment during the daytime, since these pests are active only at night and are in shelters during the day. It affects cockroaches with toxic fumes that penetrate through the respiratory tract. The poison also enters the body through contact.

After the surfaces in the room are treated, the substance acts for a long time. Therefore, cockroaches that walk on such a surface will definitely come into contact with the poison. This leads to the fact that one cockroach, which has become dirty with poison, runs to its relatives and infects the rest of the individuals. In addition, when the parasite cleans itself, it eats the poison and it enters the intestines from where it has a detrimental effect.

For 2 weeks, the insecticide applied to the surface poses a mortal danger to cockroaches. Then its effect decreases.

Dichlorvos for bedbugs Neo

Dichlorvos Varan is made on the basis of a classic drug.
Its main component is dimethyl dichlorovinyl phosphate. In addition, the composition includes cypermethrin and tetramethrin. These substances are synthetic analogues of pyrethrin, a natural insecticide found in chamomile. When it gets on the body of an insect, it blocks the transmission of nerve impulses and causes paralysis. Thanks to their synergistic properties, they enhance each other’s effects. Therefore, Varan helps get rid of bedbugs faster than regular dichlorvos. In direct contact with the body of bedbugs, dichlorvos Varan kills them instantly. The action of the substance is prolonged, it is active for 20 days. The drug does not have a specific unpleasant odor. It contains lemon-scented fragrances. The rules for using Varan are the same as for dichlorvos. You can repeat the treatment of the room after two weeks so that the destruction of bedbugs is final.

Apply the product to places where bedbugs accumulate; to reach hard-to-reach surfaces, a special nozzle is attached to the can. When droplets of the substance fall on insects, they die instantly. Dichlorvos Neo works for several weeks; it is recommended to repeat the treatment after 14-20 days. The drug is inexpensive and gets good reviews.

When dichlorvos gets on the body membranes, in the respiratory and digestive tracts, the insect falls into a state of paralysis and soon dies.

Dichlorvos kills insects most effectively when applied directly. The film of the substance that forms on treated surfaces after spraying also retains a high level of toxicity for some time, and if a bug crawls over it, it will most likely die.

Proper Use

Before you start using the spray, you need to prepare the room, for this:

  • All windows are closed and ventilation openings must be closed.
  • If there is an aquarium, take it out; in the case where this is not possible, the compressor is turned off and closed with a lid.
  • All cabinets and upholstered furniture must be moved away from the walls, and the refrigerator must also be moved away.
  • All carpets from the floors and walls are removed and removed from the premises.
  • It is necessary to remove bed linen and lift mattresses from beds.
  • Be sure to hide all food products, pack them in airtight packaging or containers, and do the same with dishes, kitchen utensils and personal hygiene products.
  • Remove all things, clothes, towels, toys from surfaces, and pack them in bags.
  • Kitchen cabinets are being emptied.
  • Wipe off dust, remove cobwebs and wet clean.

All procedures are carried out in an empty room. Only the one who will carry out the processing remains; the living people and animals leave the apartment.

Next, you need to wear protective overalls, which can be replaced with pants and a long-sleeved shirt. Be sure to use rubber gloves, goggles and a respirator.

Let's proceed directly to the procedure:

  • Shake the can.
  • When applying, keep at a distance of 20 centimeters from the surface.
  • Apply to baseboards, back walls of furniture, behind refrigerators, radiators, pipes, under washbasins and sinks.
  • Pay attention to hard-to-reach places and crevices.

The procedure must be carried out quickly enough to avoid breathing toxic fumes.

Security measures

Do not allow the insecticide to come into contact with the skin, respiratory tract, or mucous membranes of the eyes, mouth and nose. If any symptoms appear while working with the drug, for example, dizziness, cough, headache, sore throat, etc., immediately stop the procedure and go out into fresh air. In case of contact with skin, wash with plenty of water and soap. If it gets on the mucous membrane, rinse with water; if irritation, pain, itching or other symptoms appear, consult a doctor.

When spraying the product, do not allow it to get into sockets or equipment.

Activities after treatment

After treatment, you must leave the room for at least 3 hours, preferably more. Upon return, the apartment is well ventilated to get rid of toxic fumes. First, only one person should return to the room and perform wet cleaning. During cleaning, all surfaces that come into contact with humans and animals must be thoroughly washed using a soap solution. Be careful not to leave poison in places that children and animals may come into contact with.

In addition, make sure that animals do not eat a dead cockroach, as it can cause poisoning and serious consequences. When poison enters the body, increased salivation and convulsions begin. Contact your doctor immediately.

Precautionary measures

You can avoid the danger from dichlorvos if you carry out the post-treatment activities correctly. 30 minutes after spraying the drug, you need to return home, open the windows, doors, and ventilate the room. You need a draft for 30 minutes to remove toxins from the air.

To eliminate the possibility of dichlorvos poisoning by pets and children, the remaining aerosol is removed from view

It is equally important to follow safety rules: be sure to use protective equipment. If the insecticide does get into your eyes or skin, you need to help by rinsing the affected area with plenty of water and go to the hospital

Reviews

We had the following situation: we came to visit our grandmother and saw that new “tenants” had appeared. Grandmother is already old and, of course, it is very difficult for her to carry out any events. My husband and I decided to take our grandmother home with us for a week, while we ourselves began to fight the Prussians. We bought Varan because the seller highly recommended it, and we didn’t regret it at all. We sprayed the product in the evening and went home. In the morning before work, we looked in and were scared, to put it mildly, because there were a lot of corpses. Within a week, they came and cleaned, and within a week the apartment was clean.

I used Varan for moths. I just didn’t know what to do anymore, I used both tablets and sprays, the result was the same, first they disappeared, then they appeared again. So I decided to try dichlorvos. I treated the cabinets, carpets, furniture, and sent warm clothes to the dry cleaner. I am very pleased with the result, no moths for several months now.

Varan did not impress me and I am dissatisfied with his actions. I processed everything according to the instructions, did everything as it should. At first I actually removed the corpses of cockroaches, and they disappeared, but the result did not last long, because after about 2 weeks they were running around the kitchen again. The effectiveness of the old dichlorvos was many times better.

How to treat bedbugs

Since Varan is suitable for processing any materials and surfaces, both indoors and outdoors. Apartment, dacha, facade, forest... it doesn’t matter! The effect begins immediately at the time of treatment and lasts up to 3 weeks.

Remember that the remedy is most effective when the problem has just appeared. The spray does not affect insect eggs, so it may be necessary to repeat the application when new insects hatch. If you carefully follow the instructions, you can completely remove the insects in 7–14 days.

  1. Do a wet cleaning of the visit being treated.
  2. Check all windows and doors to ensure they are tightly closed.
  3. Shake the container with the toxic agent thoroughly.
  4. Spray the aerosol at a distance of 30 cm from the surface to be treated. Apply the product to all areas where insects may be found. Do this as quickly as possible so that you have as little contact time as possible with the substance.
  5. After 7–8 hours you can ventilate the room. Until this time you should not enter it.
  6. After the room is completely ventilated, you can carry out wet cleaning. Wipe only those surfaces that you touch in everyday life. Various hidden, hard-to-reach places should not be wiped.

Dichlorvos

The result will depend on how carefully and thoroughly the infected area is treated. Insects most often make nests in the following places:

  • upholstered furniture (sofas, armchairs, ottomans, beds, etc.);
  • sockets and switches;
  • paintings;
  • skirting boards;
  • walls where there are cracks or wallpaper has peeled off;
  • cabinets, dressing rooms, cabinets, drawers.

If you have a small apartment, no more than 2 rooms, then a small balloon will suffice. In addition to its effect on bedbugs, Varan can help in the fight against flies, fleas, ants and cockroaches.
